Installation Procedure

  1. Install Diesel Fuel Separator (1)

  2. Remove the closure plugs from all connections.
  3. Connect Diesel Fuel Separator (2) @ Fuel Injection Pump (1). Refer to Plastic Collar Quick Connect Fitting Service

    CAUTION:

    Refer to Fastener Caution

  4. Install and tighten Engine Wiring Harness Conduit Bolts (1) (Qty: 3) to 9 N.m (80 lb in)

  5. Install and tighten Diesel Fuel Separator Bolt (3) to 10 N.m (89 lb in)
  6. Connect Fuel Injector Fuel Return Hose (7) @ Diesel Fuel Separator (2)
  7. Install a NEW clamp. (6) - J-42572  CV Boot Clamp Pliers
  8. Connect Diesel Fuel Separator Hose (4) @ Fuel Rail
  9. Engage Diesel Fuel Separator Hose Clamp (5)
  10. Remove the closure plugs from all connections.
  11. Connect Fuel Return Front Pipe (1) @ Diesel Fuel Separator (2). Refer to Metal Collar Quick Connect Fitting Service

  12. Connect the electrical connectors:
    1. Intake Manifold Runner Control Valve Actuator (1)
    2. Fuel Rail Pressure Sensor (2)
    3. Intake Air Pressure and Temperature Sensor (3)
    4. Fuel Pressure Regulator (4)
    5. Exhaust Temperature Sensor - Position 1 (5)
    6. Glow Plugs (7) (Qty: 4)
  13. Install Wiring Harness Retainers (6, 8) (Qty: 4)
  14. Install Fuel Injection Fuel Feed Pipe. Refer to Fuel Injection Fuel Feed Pipe Replacement - Fuel Injection Pump to Fuel Rail 
  15. Install Intake Manifold Cover. Refer to Intake Manifold Cover Replacement
  16. Connect the battery negative cable. Refer to Battery Negative Cable Disconnection and Connection (KL9)
