Circuit/System Testing

WARNING: This page is about a different car, the 2019 Buick Cascada, 2018 Buick Cascada, and 2017 Buick Cascada. However, it is still accessible from the selected car via links, so may be relevant.

DTC B3728

  1. Ignition OFF, disconnect the harness connector at the S64D Seat Adjuster Switch - Driver, ignition ON.
  2. Test for less than 1 V between the signal circuit terminal C and ground.
    • If 1 V or greater
    1. Ignition OFF, disconnect the XI harness connector at the K23 Folding Top Control Module, ignition ON
    2. Test for less than 1 V between the signal circuit and ground.
      • If 1 V or greater, repair the short to voltage on the circuit.
      • If less than 1 V, replace the K23 Folding Top Control Module.
    • Go to next step: If less than 1 V
  3. Connect a jumper wire between the signal circuit terminal D and ground.
  4. NOTE:

This test will be invalid if the signal circuit terminal D is not connected to ground before the signal circuit terminal C is connected to B+.

  5. Install a 3 A fused jumper wire between the signal circuit terminal C and the B+ circuit terminal E.
  6. Verify the scan tool S64D Seat Adjuster Switch - Driver (Horizontal Control) parameter is Active.
    • If not Active
    1. Ignition OFF, remove the jumper wires, disconnect the X1 harness connector at the K23 Folding Top Control Module.
    2. Test for infinite resistance between each signal circuit and ground.
      • If less that infinite resistance, repair the short to ground on the circuit.
      • Go to next step: If infinite resistance
    3. Test for 198 - 242 Ω in the signal circuit terminal C circuit end to end.
      • If less than 198 Ω, test or replace the resistor.
      • If greater than 242 Ω, repair the open/high resistance in the circuit.
      • Go to next step: If between 198 - 242 Ω
    4. Test for 423 - 517 Ω in the signal circuit terminal D end to end.
      • If less than 423 Ω, test or replace the resistor.
      • If greater than 517 Ω, repair the open/high resistance in the circuit.
      • If between 423 - 517 Ω, replace the K23 Folding Top Control Module.
    • Go to next step: If Active
  7. Test or replace the S64D Seat Adjuster Switch - Driver.

DTC B3737

  1. Ignition OFF, disconnect the harness connector at the S64P Seat Adjuster Switch - Passenger, ignition ON.
  2. Test for less than 1 V between the signal circuit terminal C and ground.
    • If 1 V or greater
    1. Ignition OFF, disconnect the X5 harness connector at the K23 Folding Top Control Module, ignition ON

  6. Verify the scan tool S64P Seat Adjuster Switch - Passenger (Horizontal Control) parameter is Active.
    • If not Active
    1. Ignition OFF, remove the jumper wires, disconnect the X5 harness connector at the K23 Folding Top Control Module.
  7. Test or replace the S64P Seat Adjuster Switch - Passenger.
