Component Testing

Seat Horizontal Motor
- Ignition OFF, disconnect the X2 harness connector at the M51 Seat Horizontal Motor.
- Install a 30 A fused jumper wire between control terminal 1 X2 and 12 V.
- Momentarily install a jumper wire between control terminal 5 X2 and ground. The seat motor should momentarily perform the appropriate REARWARD function.
- If the motor does not perform the REARWARD function
Replace the M51 Seat Horizontal Motor.
- Go to next step: If the motor performs the REARWARD function
- If the motor does not perform the REARWARD function
- Reverse the jumper wires; the motor should perform FORWARD function.
- If the motor does not perform the FORWARD function
Replace the M51 Seat Horizontal Motor.
- Go to next step: If the motor performs the FORWARD and REARWARD functions
- If the motor does not perform the FORWARD function
- All OK.
NOTE:
When performing the following tests, make sure that the seat is not already in the position the test is attempting to produce.
