Component Testing

Seat Horizontal Motor

  1. Ignition OFF, disconnect the X2 harness connector at the M51 Seat Horizontal Motor.
  2. NOTE:

    When performing the following tests, make sure that the seat is not already in the position the test is attempting to produce.

  3. Install a 30 A fused jumper wire between control terminal 1 X2 and 12 V.
  4. Momentarily install a jumper wire between control terminal 5 X2 and ground. The seat motor should momentarily perform the appropriate REARWARD function.
    • If the motor does not perform the REARWARD function 

      Replace the M51 Seat Horizontal Motor.

    • Go to next step: If the motor performs the REARWARD function 
  5. Reverse the jumper wires; the motor should perform FORWARD function.
    • If the motor does not perform the FORWARD function 

      Replace the M51 Seat Horizontal Motor.

    • Go to next step: If the motor performs the FORWARD and REARWARD functions 
  6. All OK.
