Seat Position Sensor
The seat easy entry motor is equipped with a 3 wire hall effect type position sensor located on the motor shaft. The sensor is monitored by the folding top control module and is used to determine the seat horizontal position for seat easy entry operation. The folding top control module supplies the sensor with a 12 V reference circuit, a signal circuit, and a low reference circuit. During seat motor operation, the hall effect position sensor provides a determined number of pulse signals for every revolution of the motor shaft. These pulse signals (Counts) range from 0 - 65, 535. High scan tool count values indicate a forward seat position while low count values indicate a rearward seat position. The seat horizontal position stored in memory is the last position achieved by manual low speed seat adjustment prior to easy entry movement of the high speed motor.
