Removal Procedure

WARNING:
Use of eye goggles is necessary to prevent personal injury.
NOTE:
Rear axle bushings must ONLY be replaced pairwise.
- Remove the rear axle. Refer to Rear Axle Replacement .
- With the aid of a second mechanic, place the rear axle onto a work bench.
Mark the installation position (1) for the rear axle bushing (2) on the rear axle using a permanent marker.
Use upper gap of bushing for alignment.
- Place a drip pan under the axle.
Drill 8 times all around through rubber (1) bushing with a 10 mm (0.4 in) drill.
Carefully jigsaw around the bushing core (1) of the rear axle bushing. Use the lowest bore (2) to insert saw.
- Remove the bushing core from the bushing.
Remove the bushing (1), using the CH-48377-1 chisel (2) and a hammer.
