Installation Procedure

Rear Axle Bracket(3) - Install

NOTE:

Install, but do NOT tighten

Install NEW bolt and nut.(1 – 2)
WARNING:
Refer to Torque-to-Yield Fastener Warning .

CAUTION:
Refer to Fastener Caution .

Install and tighten the NEW bolt.(1)[8x].
1. First Pass: 90 N.m (66 lb ft).
2. Final Pass: 45 degrees, using the EN-45059 meter.
WARNING:
Refer to Torque-to-Yield Fastener Warning .

Bolt(2) - Tighten
1. First Pass: 70 N.m (52 lb ft).
2. Final Pass: 120 degrees, using the EN-45059 meter.
Remove the hydraulic lift table and the CH-6002-A tool.
Rear Spring(1) - Install[2x]
Support the rear axle with a tall jack stand near the shock absorber.

NOTE:

Install, but do NOT tighten

Bolt(1) - Loosely install[2x]
NOTE:
Install, but do NOT tighten

Bolt(1) - Loosely install[2x]
If equipped, connect the headlamp leveling rear suspension height sensor connector. Refer to Headlamp Leveling Rear Suspension Height Sensor Replacement .
{ If equipped }Bolt(1) - Install and tighten[4x] 10 N.m (89 lb in).
Bolt(1) - Install and tighten[2x] 8 N.m (71 lb in).
Install the rear V-rod underbody brace. Refer to Underbody Brace Replacement - Rear V-Rod .
Install the rear tire and wheel assemblies. Tire and Wheel Removal and Installation .
Lower the vehicle.
WARNING:
Refer to Torque-to-Yield Fastener Warning .

NOTE:
Tighten the bolts with vehicle standing on the ground.

Bolt(2) - Tighten[2x]
1. First Pass: 150 N.m (111 lb ft).
2. Final Pass: 65 degrees, using the EN-45059 meter.
NOTE:
Tighten the bolts with vehicle standing on the ground.

Bolt(2) - Tighten[2x] 160 N.m (118 lb ft).
