Removal Procedure

  1. Raise and support the vehicle. Refer to Lifting and Jacking the Vehicle .
  2. Remove the tire and wheel assemblies. Refer to Tire and Wheel Removal and Installation .
  3. Remove the equalizer beam center link heat shield. Refer to Equalizer Beam Center Link Heat Shield Replacement .
  4. GM2191438

    Remove the equalizer beam link bolt (1) from the rear axle (2).

  5. GM2191440

    Remove and DISCARD the equalizer beam link bolt and nut (1) from the equalizer beam center link (2).

  6. Remove the equalizer beam link from the vehicle.
