Removal Procedure

  1. Raise and support the vehicle. Refer to Lifting and Jacking the Vehicle .
  2. Remove the tire and wheel assemblies. Refer to Tire and Wheel Removal and Installation .
  3. Remove the exhaust rear muffler. Refer to Exhaust Rear Muffler Replacement .
  4. Remove the equalizer beam center link heat shield. Refer to Equalizer Beam Center Link Heat Shield Replacement .
  5. GM2191440

    Remove and DISCARD the equalizer beam link inner bolt and nut (1) from the equalizer beam center link (2).

  6. Repeat procedure on the other equalizer beam link.
  7. GM2191438

    Remove the equalizer beam link bolt (1) from the rear axle (2).

  8. Remove the equalizer beam link.
  9. Repeat procedure on the other side.
  10. GM2191225
    NOTE:

    Notice the correct installation position of the bolt and nut.

    Remove and DISCARD the equalizer beam center link bolt and nut (1) from the equalizer beam center link (2).

  11. Remove the equalizer beam center link (2) from the vehicle.
