Installation Procedure
WARNING: This page is about a different car, the 2019 Buick Cascada, 2018 Buick Cascada, and 2017 Buick Cascada. However, it is still accessible from the selected car via links, so may be relevant.
Install the equalizer beam center link (2) to the vehicle.
- Tighten the equalizer beam center link bolt and nut (1).
Tighten
- Install the NEW bolt and nut (1) to the equalizer beam center link (2) and tighten the nut in a first pass to 70 N.m (52 lb ft).
- Tighten the NEW equalizer beam center link nut a final pass to additional 120 - 135 degrees, using the EN-45059 meter.
Raise the equalizer beam link in horizontal position before tighten the equalizer beam link bolt.
- Tighten the NEW left equalizer beam link inner bolt and nut (2).
Tighten
- Install the NEW bolt and nut (2) to the equalizer beam center link (1) and tighten the nut in a first pass to 40 N.m (30 lb ft).
- Tighten the NEW bolt and nut a final pass to additional 60 degrees using the EN-45059 meter.
- Repeat the procedure on the other side.
Install the equalizer beam link bolt (1) loosely to the rear axle (2).
- Repeat procedure on the other side.
- Install the equalizer beam center link heat shield. Refer to Equalizer Beam Center Link Heat Shield Replacement .
- Install the exhaust rear muffler. Refer to Exhaust Rear Muffler Replacement .
- Install the tire and wheel assemblies. Refer to Tire and Wheel Removal and Installation .
- Lower the vehicle.
- NOTE:
Tighten the bolt with vehicle standing on the ground.
Tighten the equalizer beam link bolt (1) to 160 N.m (118 lb ft).
- Repeat the procedure on the other side.
