Front Wheel Bearing and Hub Replacement

Preliminary Procedures

  1. Raise and support the vehicle. Refer to Lifting and Jacking the Vehicle .
  2. Remove the tire and wheel assembly. Refer to Tire and Wheel Removal and Installation .
  3. Remove the front brake rotor. Refer to Front Brake Rotor Replacement .
  4. Loosen the wheel drive shaft from the wheel bearing/hub. Refer to Front Wheel Drive Shaft Replacement - Left Side , and Front Wheel Drive Shaft Replacement - Right Side .
  5. Remove the front wheel speed sensor. Refer to Front Wheel Speed Sensor Replacement .
  6. Separate the outer tie rod end from the knuckle. Refer to Steering Linkage Outer Tie Rod Replacement .
  7. Remove the outer fastener lower control arm. Refer to Lower Control Arm Replacement .
  8. Remove brake hose, connectors and clips from the yoke strut.
  9. Separate the yoke from the suspension strut.
1 Wheel Hub Mounting Bolt (Qty: 3)
CAUTION:

Refer to Fastener Caution .

Procedure

  1. Remove and DISCARD the wheel hub mounting bolts.
  2. Install NEW bolts.

Tighten 
  • First Pass: 90 N.m (66 lb ft)
  • Final Pass: 60 to 75 degrees
