Component Testing

WARNING: This page is about a different car, the 2019 Buick Cascada, 2018 Buick Cascada, and 2017 Buick Cascada. However, it is still accessible from the selected car via links, so may be relevant.
  1. Ignition/Vehicle - Off
  2. Remove the component: Q8 Control Solenoid Valve Assembly
  3. Verify a condition does not exist with the component: Contamination with metallic debris
    • If a condition exists 

      Repair or replace as necessary.

    • Go to next step: If no condition exists 
  4. Verify the resistance is within the specified range for each solenoid valve. - Refer to:Control Solenoid Valve and Transmission Control Module Assembly Inspection 
    • If the resistance is not within range 

      Replace the component: Q8 Control Solenoid Valve Assembly

    • Go to next step: If the resistance is within range 
  5. Install the special tool: DT-48616-10  Adapter Harness@Q8 Control Solenoid Valve Assembly & Vehicle wiring harness X1
  6. Connect the electrical connector: B15 Transmission Internal Mode Switch
  7. Ignition - On / Vehicle - In Service Mode
  8. Perform the scan tool control function: Pressure Control Solenoid Valve 4 - On and Off

    Verify the scan tool parameter:

    • Pressure Control Solenoid Valve 4 Control Circuit High Voltage Test Status = OK or Not Run
    • Pressure Control Solenoid Valve 4 Control Circuit Low Voltage Test Status = OK or Not Run
    • Pressure Control Solenoid Valve 4 Control Circuit Open Test Status = OK or Not Run
    • If not the specified state 

      Replace the component: Q8 Control Solenoid Valve Assembly

    • Go to next step: If the specified state 
  9. All OK.
