Removal Procedure
- Engine Front Cover Replacement - Lower - Remove
- NOTE:
The re-install of the lower engine front cover and of the crankshaft balancer absorber is necessary to set the crankshaft to TDC.
Re-install the lower engine front cover (1) to the engine block without sealing.
Install 4 engine front lower cover bolts (1) hand tighten.
Install the crankshaft balancer absorber (2).
- Install the crankshaft balancer absorber bolt (1).
Bolt(2) - Remove[2x]
- Timing Chain Upper Guide(1) - Remove
Adjust the engine to cylinder 1 top dead center (TDC) of combustion stroke. Set crankshaft in direction of engine rotation until the markings (2, 3) line up. Rotate at the crankshaft balancer absorber bolt (1).
- NOTE:
If EN-51148 holding tool does not fit properly, rotate the crankshaft and additional 360 degrees.
Install the EN-51148 holding tool (1) to camshafts and to the cylinder head.
- Tighten the bolt (3) in the middle.
- Tighten the 2 outer bolts (2, 4).
- Remove the lower engine front cover and the crankshaft balancer absorber again.
Check the position of the crankshaft. The crankshaft must be set to TDC, the arrow (1) on the crankshaft sprocket and the arrow (2) on the oil pump must align.
- If the arrows (1, 2) do not align, install the lower engine front cover with 4 bolts and the crankshaft balancer absorber. Set the engine to TDC, refer to step 6.
Push the timing chain guide - left side (2) in the direction of the arrow.
- Fix the tensioner (1) with the EN-50513 tensioner pin (3).
Timing Chain Tensioner Bolt(2) - Remove[2x]
- Timing Chain Tensioner(1) - Remove
Timing Chain(1) - Remove
- Crankshaft Sprocket(2) - Remove
- Oil Pan Replacement - Remove
Timing Chain Guide Bolt(2) - Remove[2x]
- Remove the timing chain guide - right side (1).
Remove the timing chain guide - left side pin (2).
- Remove the timing chain guide - left side (1).
Oil Pump Bolt(3) - Remove[6x]
- Oil Pump(1) - Remove
- Oil Pump Seal(2) - Remove and DISCARD
