Installation Procedure
Oil Pump Seal(2) - Install a NEW seal.
- Oil Pump(1) - Install
- Oil Pump Bolt(3) - Install and tighten[6x] 10 N.m (89 lb in)
Install the timing chain guide - left side (1).
- Install the timing chain guide - left side pin (2) and tighten to 19 N.m (14 lb ft).
Install the timing chain guide - right side (1).
- Timing Chain Guide Bolt(2) - Install and tighten [2x] 7 N.m (62 lb in)
- Oil Pan Replacement - Install
- Ensure engine is adjusted to TDC of cylinder 1 and camshafts are fixed with EN-51148 holding tool.
Crankshaft Sprocket(2) - Install
- Timing Chain(1) - Install
Ensure that the colored link (3) match to the arrow on the oil pump.
- Ensure that the colored links (1, 2) match to the marks on the camshaft position adjuster actuators.
Timing Chain Tensioner(1) - Install
- Timing Chain Tensioner Bolt(2) - Install and tighten 10N.m (89 lb in)[2x]
Push the timing chain guide - left side (2) in the direction of the arrow.
- Remove the EN-50513 tensioner pin (3) from the tensioner (1).
Remove the middle bolt (3) and the 2 outer bolts (2, 4) and remove the EN-51148 holding tool (1).
Timing Chain Upper Guide(1) - Install
- Bolt(2) - Install and tighten 7N.m (62 lb in)[2x]
- Check the position of the crankshaft, camshaft and camshaft position actuator adjuster.
- Install the lower engine front cover with 4 bolts and the crankshaft balancer absorber.
- Turn crankshaft 720 degrees in the direction of engine rotation by the crankshaft balancer absorber bolt.
Adjust the engine to cylinder 1 (TDC) of combustion stroke. Set crankshaft in direction of engine rotation until the markings (2, 3) line up. Rotate at the crankshaft balancer absorber bolt (1).
Install the EN-51148 holding tool (1) to camshafts and to the cylinder head.
- Tighten the bolt (3) in the middle.
- Tighten the 2 outer bolts (2, 4).
- If EN-51148 holding tool can be installed, the engine timing is properly adjusted.
- Remove the middle bolt (3) and the 2 outer bolts (2, 4) and remove the EN-51148 holding tool (1).
- Remove the crankshaft balancer absorber and the lower engine front cover.
- Engine Front Cover Replacement - Lower - Install
Mind the chain marks.
