Installation Procedure

  1. Clean all sealing surfaces.
  2. GM3213268
    NOTE:

    The assembly time, including torque check, must take no longer than 10 minutes.

    Apply approximately a 3 mm (0.12 in) thick bead of oil pan sealant (1) to the oil pan. Refer to Adhesives, Fluids, Lubricants, and Sealers  for the recommended sealant.

    Oil Pan(1) - Install

    4. CAUTION:

    Fastener Caution

  4. Oil Pan Bolt(2) - Install and tighten10N.m (89 lb in)[13x]
  5. GM3213270

    Bolt(3)Install and tighten 58N.m (43 lb ft)

  6. Install the transmission converter cover (5).
  7. Bolt(1, 2) - Install and tighten[2x]58N.m (43 lb ft)
  8. Wiring Harness(4) - Connect
  9. Exhaust Front Pipe Replacement - Install
  10. Engine Shield Replacement - Install
  11. { If equipped } Front Compartment Splash Shield Replacement - Install
  12. Lower the vehicle.
  13. Fill the engine oil. Refer to Engine Oil and Oil Filter Replacement
