Removal Procedure

  1. Remove the camshaft cover. Refer to Camshaft Cover Replacement .
  2. Remove the drive belt. Refer to Drive Belt Replacement .
  3. GM2906650

    Remove the drive belt idler pulley bolt (2).

  4. Remove the drive belt idler pulley (1).
  5. GM3213249

    Remove the air conditioning compressor wiring harness bracket bolt (1).

  6. Put the air conditioning compressor wiring harness bracket (2) along with the wiring harness aside.
  7. Remove the engine mount bracket. Refer to Engine Mount Bracket Replacement .

    Remove the 7 engine front cover bolts (1).

  9. GM2949016

    Remove the 4 engine front cover bolts (1, 2).

  10. GM2949025

    Install 2 engine front cover bolts (2, 3) to the intended bores, to loosen the engine front cover (1).

  11. Remove the 2 engine front cover bolts (2, 3).
  12. GM3011737

    Remove the engine front cover (1).
