Installation Procedure
Slide a NEW crankshaft rear oil seal (2) over the EN-51151-1 installer (1) to the EN-51151-2 installer (3).
Remove the EN-51151-1 installer (1).
- Install the EN-523-1 handle (3) to the EN-51151-2 installer (2).
Install a NEW crankshaft rear oil seal ring using the EN-51151-2 installer (3) along with the EN-523-1 handle (1) to the crankshaft rear oil seal housing (2).
- Clean the crankshaft rear oil seal housing sealing surfaces.
- NOTE:
The complete installation procedure of the crankshaft rear oil seal housing must be fitted within 10 minutes of applying the sealing compound. DO NOT coat sealing compound into the crankshaft rear oil seal housing bolt bores and threads.
Apply approximately a 3 mm (0.12 in) thick bead of sealant (1) to the crankshaft rear oil seal housing (2). Refer to Adhesives, Fluids, Lubricants, and Sealers for the recommended sealant.
Apply additional sealant (1, 2) to the transitions between the cylinder block and the lower crankcase in the shown areas.
Install the crankshaft rear oil seal housing (1) along with the crankshaft rear oil seal.
- CAUTION:
Install the 4 long crankshaft rear oil seal housing bolts (2) and tighten to 10 N.m (89 lb in).
- Install the 6 short crankshaft rear oil seal housing bolts (1) and tighten to 10 N.m (89 lb in).
