Removal Procedure

  1. Raise and support the vehicle. Lifting and Jacking the Vehicle .
  2. Front Compartment Splash Shield - Remove - Front Compartment Splash Shield Replacement .
  3. Drive Belt - Remove - Drive Belt Replacement .
  4. GM2968094

    Install the EN-51147  holding tool (1) to the crankshaft balancer absorber (2).

  5. Seize the EN-51147  holding tool (1) at the crankshaft balancer absorber (2) over the adjustable screws (4).
  6. Install the EN-956 - 1  extension (3) to the EN-51147  holding tool (1).
  7. Loosen the crankshaft balancer absorber bolt (5), counterhold with the EN-51147  holding tool along with the EN-956 - 1  extension.

    Crankshaft Balancer Absorber Bolt(1) - Remove and DISCARD

  9. NOTE:

    Remove the crankshaft balancer absorber in axial direction. A canting of the crankshaft balancer absorber can lead to a manipulated engine timing which will require a new camshaft timing chain adjustment.

  10. Crankshaft Balancer Absorber(2) - Remove
