Installation Procedure

  1. GM2968027
    NOTE:

    Mind the crankshaft balancer absorber groove.

    Crankshaft Balancer Absorber(2) - Install

  2. Crankshaft Balancer Absorber Bolt(1) - Install NEW
  3. GM2968094

    Install the EN-51147  holding tool (1) to the crankshaft balancer absorber (2).

  4. Seize the EN-51147  holding tool (1) at the crankshaft balancer absorber (2) over the adjustable screws (4).
  5. Install the EN-956 - 1  extension (3) to the EN-51147  holding tool (1).
    6. CAUTION:

    Refer to Fastener Caution .

    CAUTION:

    Refer to Torque-to-Yield Fastener Caution .

  6. Tighten NEW crankshaft balancer absorber bolt (5) in 2 passes using the EN-45059  meter and counterhold with the EN-51147  holding tool along with the EN-956 - 1  extension :
    1. First Pass: 250 N.m (184 lb ft).
    2. Final Pass: 45 degrees.
  7. Remove the EN-956 - 1  extension and the EN-51147  holding tool.
  8. Drive Belt - Install - Drive Belt Replacement .
  9. Front Compartment Splash Shield - Install - Front Compartment Splash Shield Replacement .
  10. Lower the vehicle.
