Installation Procedure

  1. Clean the threads of the fasteners.
  2. GM2906641

    Crankshaft Position Reluctor Ring(1) - Install

  3. GM3137474

    Automatic Transmission Flex Plate(2) - Install

    4. CAUTION:

    This is a self-retaining fastener joint that does not require thread locking compounds. Do not attempt to clean the threads with a standard tap. If a standard tap is used, damage to the joint threads will occur.

    CAUTION:

    Refer to Fastener Caution .

  4. Automatic Transmission Flex Plate Bolt(2) - Install NEW - Do NOT tighten.[8x]
  5. GM3137473

    Install the EN-652  holder (2), lock the automatic transmission flex plate via the starter ring gear.

    CAUTION:

    Refer to Torque-to-Yield Fastener Caution .

    Automatic Transmission Flex Plate Bolt(2) - Tighten in sequence[8x] 60 N.m (44 lb ft)

  7. EN-652  holder - Remove
  8. Transmission - Install - Transmission Replacement .
