Oil Pan Installation

  1. GM3213268

    Clean the sealing surfaces.

    2. NOTE:

    The assembly time, including torque check, must take no longer than 10 minutes.

  2. Apply approximately a 3 mm (0, 12 in) thick bead of oil pan sealant (1) to the oil pan. Refer to Adhesives, Fluids, Lubricants, and Sealers  for the recommended sealant.
  3. GM2949041

    Install the oil pan (2) to lower crankcase.

    4. CAUTION:

    Refer to Fastener Caution .

  4. Install the 13 oil pan bolts (1) to the lower crankcase and tighten to 10 N.m (89 lb in). Mind the different bolt length.
