Intake Camshaft Installation

Coat the intake camshaft (1) and the camshaft bearing cap (2) with MoS 2 lubricating paste or engine oil. Refer to Adhesives, Fluids, Lubricants, and Sealers .
Install the intake camshaft (1).
Ensure that the camshaft notch (5) at the front of the camshaft is in the 6 O ' clock position before installing the camshaft bearing caps.

NOTE:

Note the identification marking on the camshaft bearing caps.

Install the 5 intake camshaft bearing caps (4) to the cylinder head.
Install the intake camshaft bearing front cap (2) to the cylinder head.
Loosely install the 12 intake camshaft bearing cap bolts (3).

CAUTION:
Refer to Fastener Caution .

Tighten the 12 intake camshaft bearing cap bolts (1) to 9 N.m (80 lb in), working from inside to outside in a spiral. See sequence as shown.
