Intake Camshaft Installation

Coat the intake camshaft (1) and the camshaft bearing cap (2) with MoS 2 lubricating paste or engine oil. Refer to Adhesives, Fluids, Lubricants, and Sealers .
- Install the intake camshaft (1).
- Ensure that the camshaft notch (5) at the front of the camshaft is in the 6 O ' clock position before installing the camshaft bearing caps.
- Install the 5 intake camshaft bearing caps (4) to the cylinder head.
- Install the intake camshaft bearing front cap (2) to the cylinder head.
- Loosely install the 12 intake camshaft bearing cap bolts (3).

CAUTION:
Refer to Fastener Caution .
Tighten the 12 intake camshaft bearing cap bolts (1) to 9 N.m (80 lb in), working from inside to outside in a spiral. See sequence as shown.
NOTE:
Note the identification marking on the camshaft bearing caps.
