Fuel Injection Pump Installation

  1. GM2969150

    Check the intake camshaft position.

  2. Insert a plastic ruler (2) until it stops against the cam (1).
  3. Draw a line (3) at the plastic ruler with a pen.

    NOTE:

    Second technician is required.

    Rotate the camshaft (1) at the crankshaft until the lowest point of the plastic ruler (2) is reached.

    NOTE:

    Ensure that the guide pin (1) is in line the groove (3).

    Install the fuel injection pump shaft lifter roller (2).

  6. GM2969138

    Install the NEW fuel injection pump gasket (1)

  7. Install the fuel injection pump (2).
    8. CAUTION:

    Refer to Fastener Caution .

  8. Install the 2 fuel injection pump bolts (3) alternating in steps of turn.
  9. Tighten the 2 fuel injection pump bolts to 11 N.m (97 lb in).
