Installation Procedure

  1. GM2968028
    NOTE:

    Mind the crankshaft balancer absorber groove.

    Install the crankshaft balancer absorber (2) and the NEW crankshaft balancer absorber bolt (1).

  2. GM2968095

    Install the EN-51147  holding tool (1) to the crankshaft balancer absorber (2).

  3. Seize the EN-51147  holding tool (1) at the crankshaft balancer absorber (2) over the adjustable screws (4).
  4. Install the EN-956 - 1  extension (3) to the EN-51147  holding tool (1).
    5. CAUTION:

    Refer to Fastener Caution .

    CAUTION:

    Refer to Torque-to-Yield Fastener Caution .

  5. Tighten NEW crankshaft balancer absorber bolt (5) in 2 passes using the EN-45059  meter and counterhold with the EN-51147  holding tool along with the EN-956 - 1  extension :
    1. First pass to 250 N.m (184 lb ft).
    2. Second pass to 45 degrees.
  6. Remove the EN-956 - 1  extension and the EN-51147  holding tool.
