Removal Procedure

CAUTION:

- Raise and support the vehicle. Refer to Lifting and Jacking the Vehicle .
- Review the exhaust system cutting instructions. Refer to Exhaust System Cutting .
Remove the 2 exhaust rear auxiliary muffler hanger insulator bracket bolts (3) from the vehicle.
- Remove the exhaust rear auxiliary muffler hanger bracket (2).
- Remove the 2 exhaust rear muffler hanger insulators (1) from the exhaust rear muffler (4).
- Place the exhaust system onto the rear axle.
- Support the exhaust rear auxiliary muffler.
Note the dent marks (1) around the exhaust pipe.
- NOTE:
Use a suitable flat steel bar (2) or equivalent tool to measure the cut position I and II with a rule (1).
NOTE:A second technician is required.
If no markings are available, measure and mark the cut position as shown in the graphic.
Cut position; I= 142 mm; II= 149mm
- NOTE:
A second technician is required.
Cut the exhaust rear auxiliary muffler (2) with CH-6614 cutter (1) at the determined position.
- Remove the exhaust rear auxiliary muffler (3).
