Removal Procedure

CAUTION:

Refer to Exhaust Flexible Pipe Bending Caution .

  1. Raise and support the vehicle. Refer to Lifting and Jacking the Vehicle .
  2. Remove the underbody brace - rear V-rod. Refer to Underbody Brace Replacement - Rear V-Rod .
  3. Support the exhaust pipe.
  4. For exhaust cutting instructions refer to Exhaust System Cutting .

    Note the dent marks (1) around the exhaust pipe.

  6. GM2725900

    Cut the exhaust pipe from the exhaust rear muffler at the marked position (1), using the CH-6614  cutter (2).

  7. GM2882947

    Remove the 2 nuts (4).

  8. Remove the exhaust hanger insulator (1).
  9. Unsupport and remove the exhaust pipe (3) from the exhaust particulate filter (6) and the exhaust rear muffler (2).
  10. Remove and DISCARD the gasket (5).
