Exhaust Rear Muffler

WARNING: This page is about a different car, the 2019 Buick Cascada. However, it is still accessible from the selected car via links, so may be relevant.
GM2027986

The rear muffler (1) is to reduce broad band engine exhaust noise. It is comprised of a series of perforated tubes and baffles to break up the sound waves and reflect them.

It is made of stainless steel to protect the rear muffler from corrosion.

The rear muffler is mounted behind the rear suspension equalizer beam (watt linkage).

The exhaust gasses are discharged through each of the two tailpipes on the left and right.
