Removal Procedure

  1. Raise and support the vehicle. Refer to Lifting and Jacking the Vehicle .
  2. Remove the front bumper fascia. Refer to Front Bumper Fascia Replacement .
  3. Drain the transmission fluid. Refer to Transmission Fluid Drain and Fill .
  4. GM2917591

    Unclip the transmission fluid cooler pipe - front (4) from the 2 engine coolant fan shroud retainers (2) and from the 3 retainers (1).

  5. GM2917594

    Install a suitable container to catch the transmission fluid if it drips out of the connectors and the pipe.

  6. Disconnect the transmission fluid cooler pipe (5) from the transmission fluid auxiliary cooler bypass valve connector (1) and the radiator connector (4). Refer to Transmission Fluid Cooler Hose/Pipe Quick-Connect Fitting Disconnection and Connection .
  7. Unclip the transmission fluid cooler pipe (5) from the 2 engine coolant fan shroud retainers (3).
  8. Remove the transmission fluid cooler pipe (5) from the 2 retainers (2).
  9. Remove the fluid cooler pipe (5).
