Removal Procedure

  1. Remove the engine shield, if equipped. Refer to Engine Shield Replacement .
  2. Remove the front compartment splash shield. Refer to Front Compartment Splash Shield Replacement .
  3. GM3213178

    Loosen the 4 water pump pulley bolts (1). Counterhold at the crankshaft pulley center bolt (2).

  4. Remove the drive belt. Refer to Drive Belt Replacement .
  5. GM2911667

    Remove and DISCARD the 4 water pump pulley bolts (2).

  6. Remove the water pump pulley (1).
