Installation Procedure

  1. GM2911667

    Install the water pump pulley (1).

  2. Apply thread lock to the water pump pulley bolts (2). Refer to Adhesives, Fluids, Lubricants, and Sealers 
  3. Pre-Install the 4 NEW water pump pulley bolts (2).
  4. Install the drive belt. Refer to Drive Belt Replacement .
  5. GM3213178
    CAUTION:

    Refer to Fastener Caution .

    Tighten the 4 water pump pulley bolts (2) to 9 N.m (80 lb in). Counterhold at the crankshaft pulley center bolt (2).

  6. Install the front compartment splash shield. Refer to Front Compartment Splash Shield Replacement .
  7. Install the engine shield, if equipped. Refer to Engine Shield Replacement .
