Removal Procedure

  1. Drain the engine coolant. Refer to Cooling System Draining and Filling .
  2. GM3213166

    Open the retainer spring (2).

  3. Remove the charge air cooler inlet air hose (3) from the turbocharger (1).

    Open the retainer spring (1).

  5. Remove the radiator outlet hose (2) from the water inlet housing.
  6. GM3213191

    Disconnect the wiring harness plug (1).

  7. Remove the 4 engine coolant thermostat housing bolts (4).
  8. Remove the engine coolant thermostat housing with thermostat (3).
  9. Remove the engine coolant thermostat housing gasket (2).
