Removal Procedure

- Remove the front wheel drive shaft. Refer to Front Wheel Drive Shaft Replacement - Left Side , or Front Wheel Drive Shaft Replacement - Right Side .
Clamp the front wheel drive shaft (1) in a vice using protective jaws or a cloth.
Remove and DISCARD the front wheel drive shaft boot (2) and clamp (1).
Remove the joint (1) from the wheel drive shaft (2) by pounding the joint link (3) using a brass bar and a hammer.
Remove the front wheel drive shaft boot (1) from the front wheel drive shaft (2).
Remove and DISCARD the retaining ring from the front wheel drive shaft.
- When replacing the wheel drive shaft boot only: Remove the old grease from the front wheel drive shaft joint.
