Installation Procedure

Install a NEW retaining ring to the front wheel drive shaft. Start to pull the ring from the upper driveshaft end down to the ring groove.
Install the front wheel drive shaft boot (1) to the front wheel drive shaft (2).
Install the joint (1) to the wheel drive shaft using a wooden block and a hammer. Make sure that the retaining ring engages audibly.
Place approximately half of the grease delivered with the service kit inside the joint and fill the boot with the remaining grease.
Position the boot to the grooves in the joint and the wheel drive shaft.
- Install a NEW front wheel drive shaft boot (2) and clamp (1).
Crimp the clamp using the CH-804 tensioner (1) and a torque wrench. Tighten the tool to 25 N.m (18 lb ft).
- Remove all excess grease which leaked out.
- Install the front wheel drive shaft. Refer to Front Wheel Drive Shaft Replacement - Left Side , or Front Wheel Drive Shaft Replacement - Right Side .
