Installation Procedure

WARNING: This page is about a different car, the 2019 Buick Cascada, 2018 Buick Cascada, and 2017 Buick Cascada. However, it is still accessible from the selected car via links, so may be relevant.
  1. Place the fuel tank on a jack.
  2. GM2743863
    NOTE:

    A second technician is required.

    Extend the jack step wise, until you can install the fuel tank fuel pump module wiring harness (1).

  3. Evaporative Emission Canister Replacement  - Install
  4. Connect the fuel tank fuel pump module wiring harness (1) to the fuel tank fuel pump module (2).
  5. Clip the fuel tank fuel pump module wiring harness into the 2 bracket clips (3).
  6. Install the fuel tank, by extending the jack.

    Install the 2 fuel tank straps to the fuel tank (1).

  8. CAUTION:

    Refer to Fastener Caution .

  9. Install the 2 fuel tank strap bolts (2) and tighten to 20 N.m (15 lb ft).
  10. Lower and remove the jack.

    Connect the fuel tank filler vent pipe (4). Refer to Plastic Collar Quick Connect Fitting Service .

  12. Install the fuel tank filler hose (3) to the fuel tank filler pipe (1).
  13. Install the clamp.(2)

    Connect the emission canister fuel vent pipe (1) to the fuel tank vent pipe (3). Refer to Plastic Collar Quick Connect Fitting Service .

  15. Clip the fuel vent pipe (3) into the rear bracket clip (2).
  16. GM2834311

    Connect the fuel tank feed pipe connector (1) to the fuel feed pipe (4). Refer to Plastic Collar Quick Connect Fitting Service .

  17. Clip the fuel feed pipe into the rear bracket clip (3).
  18. Close the rear bracket clip (3).
  19. Install the underbody brace - rear V-rod. Refer to Underbody Brace Replacement - Rear V-Rod .
  20. Lower the vehicle.
  21. Connect the battery negative cable. Battery Negative Cable Disconnection and Connection .
