Removal Procedure

CAUTION:

When working on the fuel rail and fuel injectors, always maintain a clean work surface. Failure to maintain a clean work surface can result in contaminant on the injector seals and cause leaks.

  1. Remove the fuel injector rail assembly. Refer to Fuel Injection Fuel Rail Assembly Removal and Installation .
  2. GM2918404
    NOTE:

    The EN-51146 - 2 - 5  calibrations tools must be installed.

    Remove the 8 plate bolts (1) and remove EN-51146-1-2  plate (2), counterhold with a wrench (4) at the EN-51146-1-1  supports (3).

  3. NOTE:

    Remove only the EN-51146-1-1  supports (3) of the fuel injector or fuel injectors, which will be replaced. The EN-51146-1-1  supports must be installed at the injectors, which will be re-used. Failure to follow this caution could cause leaks or malfunction after installation.

  4. Remove the regarding EN-51146-1-1  supports (3).
  5. GM3324319

    Disconnect the regarding fuel injector wiring harness plugs (2).

  6. Remove the regarding fuel injectors (3) from fuel injection fuel rail (1).
