Removal Procedure

- Relieve the fuel system pressure. Fuel Pressure Relief
- Battery Negative Cable Disconnection and Connection - Disconnect
- Front Wheelhouse Liner Replacement - Remove
Adjust the engine to cylinder 1 top dead center (TDC) of combustion stroke. Set crankshaft in direction of engine rotation until the markings (2) (3) line up. Rotate at the crankshaft balancer absorber bolt (1).
Extend the TDC marking (1).
Set the crankshaft in direction of engine rotation to about 80 degrees (a) after TDC, use the crankshaft balancer absorber bolt (2).
- Charge Air Cooler Outlet Air Hose@Throttle Body - Remove - Charge Air Cooler Outlet Air Hose Replacement
Fuel Feed Front Pipe(2)@Fuel Injection Pump(3) - Disconnect
- Close all open connections with EN-6015 plugs.
- Clip(1) - Remove
- Fuel Injection Fuel Feed Front Pipe Replacement - Remove
Disconnect the electrical connector.(3)@Fuel Injection Pump(1)
- Remove the fuel injection pump cover (2).
Loosen the 2 fuel injection pump bolts (1) alternating in steps of 1/2 turn.
- Fuel Injection Pump Bolt - Remove[2x]
- Fuel Injection Pump(2) - Remove
- Valve Lifter Follower(5) - Remove
- Seal Ring(3) - Remove and DISCARD
- Fuel Injection Pump Gasket(4) - Remove and DISCARD
NOTE:
Take care that during removal of the fuel injection pump the valve lifter follower (5) does not fall apart.
