Removal Procedure

  1. Remove the engine sight shield. Refer to Engine Sight Shield Replacement .
  2. GM2969098
    CAUTION:

    In order to prevent any possible electrostatic discharge damage to the ECM, do not touch the connector pins.

    Disconnect the wiring harness plug (4) from the evaporative emission canister purge solenoid valve (5).

  3. Remove the evaporative emission canister purge pipe connector (1) from the intake manifold. Refer to Plastic Collar Quick Connect Fitting Service .
  4. Remove the evaporative emission front pipe (2) from the evaporative emission canister purge solenoid valve (5). Refer to Plastic Collar Quick Connect Fitting Service .
  5. Remove the evaporative emission canister purge solenoid valve (5) from the bracket (3).
