Removal Procedure

  1. Disconnect the battery negative cable. Refer to Battery Negative Cable Disconnection and Connection .
  2. Remove the engine sight shield. Refer to Engine Sight Shield Replacement .

    CAUTION:

    In order to prevent any possible electrostatic discharge damage to the ECM, do not touch the connector pins.

    Unclip the turbocharger coolant return pipe (4) from the charge air cooler outlet hose (3).

  4. Unclip the charge air cooler outlet hose retainer clamp (2).
  5. Remove the charge air cooler outlet hose (3) from the throttle body (1).
  6. Remove the front bumper fascia. Refer to Front Bumper Fascia Replacement .
  7. GM2968107

    Unclip the radiator inlet hose (1) from the charge air cooler outlet hose (2).

  8. Unclip the charge air cooler outlet hose retainer clamp (3).
  9. Remove the charge air cooler outlet hose (2) from the charge air cooler (4).
