Removal Procedure

  1. Disconnect the battery negative cable. Refer to Battery Negative Cable Disconnection and Connection .
  2. Raise and support the vehicle. Refer to Lifting and Jacking the Vehicle .

    CAUTION:

    In order to prevent any possible electrostatic discharge damage to the ECM, do not touch the connector pins.

    Remove the wiring harness bracket bolt (2).

  4. Remove the wiring harness bracket (1) from the engine block.
  5. GM2968088

    Disconnect the charge air bypass valve wiring harness plug (6).

  6. Remove the 2 charge air bypass valve hose clamps (4, 7).
  7. Remove the 3 charge air bypass valve hoses (1, 3, 5).
  8. Unclip the retainer clips (arrows) and remove charge air bypass valve (2).
