Removal Procedure

  1. Disconnect the battery negative cable. Refer to Battery Negative Cable Disconnection and Connection .
  2. Remove the engine sight shield. Refer to Engine Sight Shield Replacement .

    CAUTION:

    In order to prevent any possible electrostatic discharge damage to the ECM, do not touch the connector pins.

    Remove the charge air bypass valve hose clamp (2).

  4. Remove the charge air bypass valve hose (3) from the charge air bypass valve - turbocharger.
  5. Remove the 2 retainer clips (1).
  6. Raise and support the vehicle. Refer to Lifting and Jacking the Vehicle .
  7. Remove the engine shield, if equipped. Refer to Engine Shield Replacement .
  8. GM2906659

    Remove the charge air bypass valve hose clamp (2).

  9. Unclip the charge air bypass valve hose from the 2 clips (3).
  10. Remove the charge air bypass valve hose (1) from the charge air bypass valve - intake manifold.
  11. Lower the vehicle.
  12. Remove the charge air bypass valve hose.
