Circuit/System Testing

- Remove the flywheel inspection cover.
- Inspect the flywheel for loose flywheel bolts.
- If there are loose flywheel bolts
Tighten the flywheel bolts, refer to Fastener Tightening Specifications.
- Go to next step: If there are no loose flywheel bolts
- If there are loose flywheel bolts
- Inspect the flywheel for missing or chipped gear teeth
- If there are chipped or missing gear teeth
Replace the flywheel.
- Go to next step: If there are no chipped or missing gear teeth
- If there are chipped or missing gear teeth
- Inspect the bell housing for debris.
- If there is debris in the bell housing
Remove the debris.
- Go to next step: If there is no debris in the bell housing
- If there is debris in the bell housing
- Inspect the flywheel for bending.
- If the flywheel is bent
Replace the flywheel
- Go to next step: If the flywheel is not bent
- If the flywheel is bent
- Replace the starter.
