Removal Procedure

WARNING: This page is about a different car, the 2019 Buick Cascada, 2018 Buick Cascada, and 2017 Buick Cascada. However, it is still accessible from the selected car via links, so may be relevant.
  1. Remove the folding top front panel. Refer to Folding Top Front Panel Replacement .
  2. Disconnect the battery negative cable. Refer to Battery Negative Cable Disconnection and Connection .
  3. GM3405260

    Use a cutter to remove the insulation from the sensor wire (1) which will be replaced.

  4. WARNING:

    Use the proper eye protection when drilling to prevent metal chips from causing physical injury.

    CAUTION:

    Proper rivet hole size is critical to ensure rivet retention. Always confirm the correct drill bit size before drilling the holes. Failure to ensure proper rivet retention may result in oversized holes which could cause damage or misalignment of the folding top.

  5. GM3405261

    Cut the two sensor wires (4) on the wire connector to the wiring harness (1).

  6. Drill out the rivet (3) and remove the sensor (2).
