Removal Procedure

- Disconnect the battery negative cable. Refer to Battery Negative Cable Disconnection and Connection .
Use a cutter to remove the insulation from the sensor wire which will be replaced.
- For sensor (1) bring the folding top in the middle position. Refer to Folding Top Manual Operation .
- For one of the sensors (2) remove the folding top. Refer to Folding Top Replacement .
Cut the two sensor wires (1) on the wire connector to the wiring harness (4).
- Drill out the rivet (3) and remove the sensor (2).
WARNING:
Use the proper eye protection when drilling to prevent metal chips from causing physical injury.
CAUTION:
Proper rivet hole size is critical to ensure rivet retention. Always confirm the correct drill bit size before drilling the holes. Failure to ensure proper rivet retention may result in oversized holes which could cause damage or misalignment of the folding top.
