Component Testing

  1. Install a 10 A fused jumper wire between the control terminal 2 and 12 V.
  2. Momentarily install a jumper wire between the control terminal 1 and ground. The M89 Folding Top Stowage Compartment Lid Latch Motor should open the latch.
    • If the latch does not open 

      Replace the M89 Folding Top Stowage Compartment Lid Latch Motor.

    • Go to next step: If the latch opens 
  3. Reverse the jumper wires, the M89 Folding Top Stowage Compartment Lid Latch Motor should close the latch.
    • If the latch does not close 

      Replace the M89 Folding Top Stowage Compartment Lid Latch Motor.

    • Go to next step: If the latch closes 
  4. All OK
