Switches and Sensors
Header Latch Position Sensors
The front header latch secures the folding top to the top of the windshield area when the top is closed. The B240L Folding Top Header Latched Position Sensor - Left and B240R Folding Top Header Latched Position Sensor - Right sensors provide an input to the K23 Folding Top Control Module to indicate if the header is latched or unlatched.
Folding Top Control Switches
The S134 Folding Top/Global Window Switch is connected directly to the K23 Folding Top Control Module. It contains two momentary contacts each providing a separate signal to the K23 Folding Top Control Module. One provides the open signal and the other the close signal. K23 Folding Top Control Module provides the switch with a referenced ground signal.
The K23 Folding Top Control Module determines requested top operation by monitoring the two signals from the S134 Folding Top/Global Window Switch. Each signal input is recognized as active when the contacts in the S134 Folding Top/Global Window Switch complete the circuit path to the referenced ground signal. When either contact is inactive, the circuit is open and the signal circuit is pulled up to battery by the K23 Folding Top Control Module.
Folding Top Luggage Barrier Sensors
The B43L Folding Top Luggage Barrier Sensor - Left and B43R Folding Top Luggage Barrier Sensor - Right are two-wire hall effect sensors providing input signals to the K23 Folding Top Control Module indicating if the required trunk area is available for stowing the top. The two sensors provide an input to the K23 Folding Top Control Module to indicate if the folding top stowage compartment is clear.
Folding Top Position Sensor
The K23 Folding Top Control Module supplies a switched filtered battery voltage to one terminal. The other terminal is a current source providing the signal to the K23 Folding Top Control Module. The B251 Folding Top down Position Sensor and B252 Folding Top Up Position Sensor provide inputs to the K23 Folding Top Control Module to indicate if the folding top is fully open or fully closed.
Tension Bow Position Sensors
The B249L Folding Top Tension Bow Down Position Sensor - Left, B249R Folding Top Tension Bow Down Position Sensor - Right, and B250 Folding Top Tension Bow Up Position Sensor provide inputs to the K23 Folding Top Control Module to indicate if the tension bow is in the up or down position.
Stowage Compartment Flap Sensors
The B243L Folding Top Stowage Compartment Flap Open Position Sensor - Left and B241L Folding Top Stowage Compartment Flap Closed Position Sensor - Left are 2 - wire hall-effect sensors that provide stowage compartment flap sensor status to the K23 Folding Top Control Module. When the folding top is in the fully down position, the stowage compartment flaps are enabled to fill in the gaps on the sides of the stowage compartment lid.
Stowage Compartment Latch Position Switches
The B246 Folding Top Stowage Compartment Lid Latch Closed Switch and B247 Folding Top Stowage Compartment Lid Latch Open Switch are inputs to the K23 Folding Top Control Module that indicate if the latch is open or closed.
Stowage Compartment Lid Position Sensors
The B244R Folding Top Stowage Compartment Lid Closed Position Sensor - Right, B244L Folding Top Stowage Compartment Lid Closed Position Sensor - Left, and B248 Folding Top Stowage Compartment Lid Open Position Sensor provide inputs to the K23 Folding Top Control Module indicating if the stowage compartment lid is open or closed.
Rear Compartment Lid Position Sensor
The B254 Rear Compartment Lid Position Sensor provides input to the K23 Folding Top Control Module to indicate if the trunk lid is open or closed.
