Removal Procedure

  1. Open the seat back cushion cover.
  2. GM4879059

    Disconnect the head restraint cable (1) from the head restraint actuator.

    Note the location and routing of the cable (1) prior to removal to ensure proper installation.

    Raise the head restraint (3) to gain access to the head restraint guide bezel (1).

  5. Twist the head restraint guide bezel (1) counter clockwise and push the bezel upward on the head restraint adjuster rod.
  6. Using a suitable pointed or flat bladed tool, push the metal clip (2) rearward while pulling upward on the head restraint (3).
  7. Remove the head restraint (3) from the seat.
