Installation Procedure

  1. GM2949073

    Install a NEW power brake booster pump gasket (1):

  2. Make sure that the drive of the power brake booster pump is properly aligned to the recess in the camshaft.
  3. Install the power brake booster pump (2).
    4. CAUTION:

    Refer to Fastener Caution .

  4. Install the power brake booster pump bolts (2) and stud (3) and tighten to 10 N.m (89 lb in).
  5. GM2949072

    Install the engine wiring harness bracket (1) and install and tighten the engine wiring harness nut (2) to 9 N.m (80 lb in).

  6. Install the power brake booster vacuum pipe to the power brake booster vacuum pump. Refer to Power Brake Booster Vacuum Pipe Replacement .
  7. Attach the engine wiring harness to the brackets as necessary.
  8. Install the engine control module to its bracket.
  9. Install the engine sight shield. Refer to Engine Sight Shield Replacement .
