Installation Procedure

  1. GM3547141
    NOTE:

    Remove the caps from the brake pipe fittings.

    Clip the brake pressure modulator valve primary pipe (1) in the 3 - way clip (4).

  2. WARNING:

    Make sure brake pipes are correctly connected to brake pressure modulator valve. If brake pipes are switched by mistake, wheel lockup will occur and personal injury may result. The only two ways this condition can be detected are by using a Scan Tool or by doing an Antilock stop.

  3. Install the brake pressure modulator valve primary pipe (1) to the brake pressure modulator valve (3). Only hand tightening.
  4. Install the brake pressure modulator valve primary pipe (1) to the master cylinder (2). Only hand tightening.
  5. CAUTION:

    Refer to Fastener Caution .

  6. Tighten the 2 brake pressure modulator valve primary pipe coupling nuts to 18 N.m (13 lb ft).

    Position the surge tank (1).

  8. Install the clamp (2) to the surge tank (1) and the surge tank bracket (3).
  9. Connect the electrical connector (4) to the surge tank coolant fluid sensor (5).
  10. Install the battery tray. Refer to Battery Tray Replacement .
  11. Bleed the hydraulic brake system. Refer to Hydraulic Brake System Bleeding .
