Leak Detection with Nitrogen

Directions 

The Air Conditioning System lines should be filled with nitrogen to a maximum pressure of between 15 - 20 bar (220.5-294 psi). The pressure test should take place in the time span of 30 minutes. In this amount of time, there should not be any appreciable loss of pressure. If a loss of pressure is present, it should be possible to audibly locate the leak. If it is not possible to locate the leak audibly, then leak detection spray can be used on the suspected areas. After a short period of time small bubbles will rise to the surface, the indicators of a leak. After a successful repair, the A/C system can then be again filled with R134a or R1234yf.
