Fluorescent Dye Injection
WARNING: This page is about a different car, the 2019 Buick Cascada, 2018 Buick Cascada, and 2017 Buick Cascada. However, it is still accessible from the selected car via links, so may be relevant.
NOTE:
Use only fluorescent dye approved by General Motors! Some types of dye decrease the oil viscosity or may chemically react with the oil.
- General Motors has released a fluorescent dye which is compatible with PAG-Oil and POE-Oil even with the GM used refrigerant R134a and R1234yf. Refer to Approximate Fluid Capacities .
- Leak detection dye requires time to work. Depending upon the leak rate, a leak may not become visible for between 15 minutes and 7 days.
- After flushing the A/C system, add with the A/C filling device an amount of 7g fluorescent dye into the A/C system. The fluorescent dye mixes and flows with the compressor-oil oil throughout the refrigerant system.
NOTE:
Do NOT overcharge the A/C system with dye.
