Removal Procedure

- In case of a deployed roll bar, service cuts have to be made in order to open the folding top stowage compartment lid.
- WARNING:
The following precautions must be observed to avoid potential damage to the seat belt system. If these precautions are not taken, the seat belt system may not provide the proper restraint in the event of an accident, and may result in bodily injury.
- Place protective covers on the seat belts to protect them from flying sparks or debris.
- Ensure that sharp objects which may potentially cause damage are kept away from the seat belts.
- Ensure that the protective covers have no sharp edges, and that the edges are covered with tape.
Cut the folding top stowage compartment cover (1) at 180 mm (a).
- Fold sideways in order to create an opening for the roll bar to fit through.
- If necessary repeat on the other side.
- Bring the folding top to the third service position. Refer to Folding Top Positions Overview .
- Remove the rear floor panel opening cover. Refer to Rear Floor Panel Opening Cover Replacement .
- Disable the SIR system. Refer to SIR Disabling and Enabling .
Disconnect the electrical connector.(1)
Remove the 4 roll bar bolts (1).
- Remove the roll bar (2).
WARNING:
The rollbar is delivered completely ready for installation.
It must not be modified at any time.
Install as delivered.
A modified rollbar might activate unintentionally and lead to fatal or severe injuries.
